Im going to be installing a remote start into my gf's 01 nissan sentra and im wondering if this car has an anti-theft module? i did a search on here and found a topic that had the wiring for it, but said some cars might have the anti-theft. how can i know if this particular model has it? if it does have the antitheft module how do i bypass it?

dei shows a transponder key used. if in thought have a regular key made(with no chip) and start the car. if it has a chipped key it will simply stop running. i had to do this test on my titan because the dealer couldnt tell me if it had one or not.

depends on the bypass you use. but usually your going to need an extra programmed key that goes in the bypass module.

We do a lot of Sentras and all i can tell you is some do and some don't have transponders. Easiest way to tell is to remove the shroud and look for a factory pickup coil around the ignition switch. If it does, you'll need to purchase a bypass...

What would be the bypass needed in case it does have? and is it like the pats system in fords?

I dont have access to the car since my gf lives in terre haute, indiana and im in chicago so i think i will buy the bypass and if i dont need it just return it when i come back.
