car alarm problem on Impreza RS

I just bought a 2000 Subaru Impreza RS yesterday and drove it 250 miles back home when the alarm started going off. (I was in stand still traffic in downtown Chicago)  I kept pressing the button on the remote but nothing happened.  Finally it shut itself down somehow.  The rest of the way home was a 200 mile shot down the turnpike where the alarm went off several more times in the middle of driving.  The car itself was also having problems.  While driving it was hiccuping a little, I figured it was bad spark plug wires. Then the check engine light started flashing, soon it stopped hiccuping and the light went off.  But 100 miles later it all came back, all the way home.  I pull in my driveway and pop the hood and a spark is shooting from the top of the distibutor cap/spark plug wire boot to a bolt about an inch and a half away, no problem i think, i'll just get new wires.  Then the alarm attacks again, somehow it arms itself and now I cannot get it to turn off.  It has the car disable feature and now I can't even start my brand new car.  I don't want to just start cutting wires because I know that could screw up the entire car, but I REALLY need help.  It is a Viper alarm, I'm not sure which model, but the FCC ID on the back of the remote is EZSDEI476.  I looked online and it must be a pretty nice model so I want to keep the alarm but just be able to disable it for awhile so I can start the car.  I looked under the steering wheel where all the wires are and noticed that there are 2 red wires soldiered together and there is a yellow wire with a fuse that is connected to the soldiered connection of the 2 red wires, but the other end of the yellow wire isn't connected to anything.  I looked at the alarm module, at least I think it is the alarm module, and saw that there is a space that has no wire in it.  Also, the fuse on the yellow wire was busted.  Does this mean anything?  I think that the bad spark plug wire somehow shorted out my electrical system because the power locks won't lock, but they will unlock, the power mirrors don't work and of course the alarm went haywire.  I'm sorry I couldn't provied any pictures, but I described everything the best I could and mentioned anything that I could think of.  I know a lot about cars,  but I know jack about alarms.  Hopefully someone can help me out and I would really appreciate any suggestions, thanks again

B4 you start cutting wires look under the dash and try to find a little valet switch. If you find it turn the ignition on and back off then flit the switch. The led light should turn on solid. Then the alarm is disabled. If there is no switch look under the dash and try to locate the alarm brain. Simply unplug it and your problem is solved.
