The Monsoon system from 2001 + ( I beleive ) is databus activated. I just did a Monsoon in a 2003 Grand Am and there was no amp turn on that I could find. Some say it's the PINK wire at the HU, but this did nothing for the newer Monsoon systems that are databus controlled. I endeed up re-wiring the system to the back of the trunk to the front of the HU..... what a pain I tell you.

The amp turn on wire for a 2004 Grand Prix is the Tan wire in cavity F of the 12 pin plug. Jeff, for the 2003 Grand Am the wire is dark Green in cavity B3 of the radio plug. Won't help you on the last one, but it might for the next one. The Monsoon systems aren't data bus controlled. Only amps in Cadillacs, and upscale trucks like Denalis have an amp that turns on through data.
