Hey guys and gals I am installing an alarm with a start feature, need to find out what wires are for the ignition and how do i find a wire that is pos when car is started succesfully......any help will be greatly apreciated It is a 1986 Ford E-150 with a 302.......

Here is what i have. hope this helps you

I take it you want to know how to test for a starter get you a meter to test your wires put your ground leed to ground bare metel of the body some where. take your positve leed to a heavy  gauge wire a the ingition harness (might be RED / blue) turn you vehicle over with the key. your meter will read 0.00 as your turning your key to the start postion your meter will read 12volts then jump back to 0.00 when the key flips back to run postion.

to test for Ignition the wire will read 0.00 when the vhehicle is off and as you turn the key to the run postion it will stay at 12+volt while running

Well I appreciate the help. However none of those colors are on the harness going to the ignition. I may have to track down a steering wheel puller and see if i can find it that way. unless anyone has alternatives:) thank you

You dont have to pull the steering off. follow the colem down under the dash look for the harness that has heavy gauge wire atached to the steering coulem

Followed the wires from column to firewall I just dont have those colors anywhere.....
