i bought an led from ebay... wiring is as follows red-12volts + , black- negative ground, and blue is a negative switch wire... so when u ground the blue wire the led turns on ... my problem is im trying to hook up a relay to the ignition wire so it shuts off automatic when i turn the ignition on .... and turns on when i turn the ignition off... ive hooked up relays before but somehow its driving me crazy how to hook it up... i mean should i do it somehow by reversing the polarity or what... yeah seems simple but i need ur help guys!!! thanks!!!

Ok, here ya go. 86 to ignition, 85 and 30 to ground, 87a to your blue negative trigger wire....

You can hook that LED up without even using a relay. Just connect your blue wire to the ign wire. When the car is off the ign is grounded. So as soon as the car is shut off, your LED will turn on. I've wired about 5-6 of them like that before and never had any problems. Or if you're scared you will fry your LED that way, you can wire in a diode just to be on the safe side. Just wire in a diode on the blue wire with the band side facing the ign and the other side facing the LED. Then it will only let a ground pass thru the diode, not positive voltage.

wow that helps out a lot!!! both w/ the diode and relay !!! thanks guys!!! its been a while since i messed w/ alarms and yeah!!! this is prolly the best forum website ever created!!! so much knowledge that i still have to learn!!!
