110AC to 12DC Amperage Requirment ?

Hopefully, I picked the right forum. I have a new Kenwood car CD deck that I'd like to run off 110 AC (small home project). My local electronics store has 3 different 110AC/12DC converters. One converts to 12DC at 1.75 Amp (unregulated), one to 12DC at 3 Amp (regulated) and the third (most expense) to 12DC at 10 Amp (regulated). My CD deck manual lists specifications as:

Operating voltage (11 - 16 V allowable) ...... 14.4V

Do I really need the 10 Amp unit just to power this deck ?  Thanks for the advice,

You will need the 10 amp.  I would actually get one with a higher rating if possible.

I bench test car audio equipment all the time and I use  a 4 amp regulated  power supply that works just fine- for my purposes of course. Frankly it depends what the application is. If this is being used to drive serious sound I would deffinitely recomend 10 amps or higher. For a small project  3 amps should do.
