I am new to this forum, but it seems that there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this board.

I am looking to install an alarm myself on my 1995 Toyota 4Runner.  I have seen the wiring breakdowns, but I am unable to find one for my vehicle.  Can someone please post the wiring layout?

Also, the alarm I am looking at is an Avital 3300.  Is there a better alarm in this price range?  I found it for about $110-130US.

I have never installed an alarm, but I have done a few stereo installs, and i am pretty competent.  Is there anything I should be aware of before installing?

Thanks,

Chris Channer

Alarm installation is basic. You will not need to tap into the starter or 2nd ignition wires. Only need the power, ground and door trigger + door lock wires.

|  RR WINDOW UP/DN|RED / yel - RED / blu *5|A  |in drivers door or dkp      |

Notes:

*1 The diagnosis connector is located on the passenger inner fender near the fuse/relay box.    *2 Door control relay is located behind the drivers dash speaker.  *3 Can also be found at any illuminated switches, radio, or some cigarette lighters.  *4 The rear power window relay is in the left rear quarter panel, behind trim, near tail light. The trunk pin can also be found yellow/black in the drivers kick (rest at ground, diode Isolate from dash indicator).  *5 The rear tailgate window motor wires are red for up, and green for down.  Both wires can be found at the rear window relay. We advise that you use the trunk pin wire to disable your rear window module, so the rear window does not operate when the rear door is open.
