prostart 3200, 1996 cavalier

1996 Chevrolet Cavalier, no power windows or locks or trunk

Prostart 3200

1. Used the red to ignition switch for the 2 red, fused wires that connect to remote starter.

2.Purple to my Yellow starter wire

3. Yellow(ignition) to my pink ignition wire.

4 Green(2nd accessory/ignition) to my white ignition wire.

5. Orange to my Orange Accesory wire.

Next plug:

1.Black to ground

2.Purple to the colored wire on my injector plug

3.Grey hood switch

4.Orange to my brake switch (white wire)

5.Yellow to my park lights(brown).

1. Programmed remote - good

2. programmed tach - good(according to what the book says should happen.

3. Did not bypass passlock yet - trial mode with key in ignition

4. When I start the car with key, I can put car in idle mode, remove key and the unit functions properly(stays running for spec'd amount of time.

Problem:

1. When I try to remote start the car(with key in ignition, since I have not addressed passlock yet) the car turns over, fires, runs for a second and then dies. Does that 3 times.

2. i did not hook up anything to the accessory plug/harness (glow plug, locks, etc.) I did not  use  that harness at all, still in box.

Trying to get this thing goin before Christmas.............pushing my luck for time though, lol.

Even with the key in the ignition? On a bypass site it says that if you leave the key in the ignition you can test the remote system to be sure it works. before going on to the passlock system.

That is excellent to know/hear. I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why this is not working. I will get on the bypass.
