viper alarm going off when battery low

my viper alarm keeps going off whenever my battery is running low.  it will go off for a minute stop then it might go off again in 5 minutes or 4 hours.  what are my options? why is it doing this? btw the alarm isnt armed when it does this either

i dont think it needs a new battery its just a 2nd car which isnt driven every day and with it being cold the battery drains.

If your system is newer it will have last state memory(but it sounds like it does not). Try putting the system into valet mode by pressing lock/unlock/lock. Valet mode will allow the convenience features to function but disables the security features. Do you know the exact model number of the system, if you do take a look at the downloads section to see if your installation manual is available. The manual would explain valet mode in more detail. If it is not available post it to the board and someone here may be able to find the manual for you.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

the model # on the remote is 476v Im pretty sure thats not the model number though Id have to look for the box somewhere. so even though i locked the car with the manual locks and did not arm the alarm why is the alarm functioning?

If it is an older system they would go off anytime power was 'restored'. The thought process was that if someone disconnected the battery to try to disarm the alarm it would trigger when reapplying power. The electronics in these systems are designed to function properly in a specific voltage range, if the voltage is lower than what it should be it can cause the system to operate incorrectly.Installer, IT support, and FFL. so if valet is on, it shouldn't go off?

Depending on the age of the system. The newer systems remember the state they were in when they lost power, if they were armed they will go off, if they were disarmed or in valet they will not.
