I have a 2002 impala that I installed a clifford intelliguard 750 on, but never hooked up the hood trigger wire. I just recerntly installed  intellistart 4 and wanted to hooked up the hood trigger wire so my car wont remote start with the hood open. A friend of mine suggested that I use a tilt sensor instead of a pin for the hood trigger. The problem is, that tilt sensor is usually used for trunk triggers and comes with 2 wires with no diagram and I have no idea on how to hook it up. 1 wire is solid black and the other is BLACK/ gray. Has anyone else ever used this tilt sensor normally used for trunk triggers for a hood trigger, if so, could tell which wire is which? Thanks!

One wire to ground and the other will be your (-) shutdown trigger.

You can also look for instructions for a Directed 8613 tilt switch

tilt switch can be used any where a tilting trigger is needed, just do as spook says, 1 wire to ground other to -shutdown input on remote start, if you are using it to also trigger alarm i recommend putting 2 diodes in line with the stripe facing the tilt switch and then the non striped ends going to the - shutdown on remote start and the - hood/trunk trigger input on alarm
