Hi - First time posting here.
I'm installing a Kenwood DVD/NAV unit in a 2001 F250 SD diesl truck and need some help locating a couple wires. My factory radio had a mute button and the new nav unit has Bluetooth. Where do I connect the Kenwood mute wire? The install manual says to connect to ground when talking. I also need to connect a reverse sense wire for the camera. Is there any where under the dash to connect? Can I power and ground the camera connections in with the power and ground from the radio harness? Thanks!

The information I have for the reverse lights is:
Reverse Light BLACK/ pink   +   relay box under hood
But I put a backup camera/nav in an '05, and I certainly didn't spend time running wires under the hood. I just can't remember exactly where I got it......but I want to say, probably in the wire harness under the carpet on the driver's side, that runs toward the back.
It's also slightly possible that you could find the backup-lamp switch attached to the steering column; worth a quick look anyway.
And yes, the backup camera consumes very little power, so it's okay to catch power for that at the radio harness. Be sure to use switched power, though, and not constant, so you won't drain the battery when parked.
As far as the Kenwood's mute wire, that's most likely for muting the radio when you're using a non-Kenwood handsfree kit. I'd leave it totally disconnected, and then just check that everything works all right. If the radio/nav has its own bluetooth built in, it should automatically mute the music when calls come in.

I tried a Black with pink stripe that I located under the steering column coming off the key switch, but that did not work. I'll try to locate the one under the carpet tomorrow. The camera has power but I am not getting a picture yet.
