scytek alarms

I have sold and installed a number of scytek products in my shop for a couple of years, and here are my thoughts on the subject.

1) These units do have a cheaper feel. They are obviously manufactured overseas with the main focus of the company being saving money.

2) They do tend to be rather reliable, as I have only seen a few comebacks, and I have yet to see one that failed in a manner that would cause damage or undesired operation to the vehicle.

3) Thier LCD remotes suck down batteries like nobodys business. You will find yourself replacing the batteries every 2 weeks, as opposed to the 6 to 12 months that my customers report from other products.

4) The Vision guard security camera sucks.

5) They do have some pretty innovative things going on with the way they program. You can do the standard valet switch/remote programming, or you can use a laptop to program and access advanced programming menues.

6) They do have all the necessary outputs that you need to install one of these into any car. Pulse before, after, during crank etc, as well as a few programmables that can be momentary, constant with buton press, or latch w/ time out, or rest w/ ignition.

The bottom line is, that while these are in no way of as high quality as a few of the other lines I carry, I can still feel confident that my customers will not have any of the problems associated with other low end lines like Black Widow, or Design tech.

I no longer offer these units however, not because of the product itself, but because the company has poor customer service and is a pain to deal with.

BTW, on thier website they offer a free download called Scytek Companion that is a great wire reference for installers. It is fairly accurate, and it tellls you the software you need for different vehicles if you are using xpresskit modules. Did I mention its free?

i have installed these units skytek and there 2 ways are horrible nutting but problems with the remotes (color) and had a few units put them self in valet mode customer coming back remote start and alarm not working unit was in valet  had it happen to many times you get what you pay for
