Did you check the fuseable links this is a diffrent thing then a fuse. this is in line with a wire and will probabily be burnt wich needs to be cut out and a new one needs to installed. same idea as a fuse but not the same as a fuse.

what should i be looking for? i cant find anything that might look like a fusable link. how is the wire connected to the link?

If You have not found the fuse yet the Durango needs to go to a repair shop, unless of course you want to burn it to the ground. If You havent had it in/out of a shop yet at the very least you should install a inline fuse on the wire You used as a jumper, w/o a fuse you are taking a chance, a small one maybe but if the jumper wire were to ground and short, unless someone is on it like a bum on a balonie sandwich it is all over but the cryin'.
