I have not heard about tear gas, but I have heard that there is a company that has a system that exits a smoke for approx. 5-10 minutes making seeing impossible. After the smoke has cleared, there is no residue or smell from this smoke. If you use tear gas, I think the residue and after scent will still bring tears to your eyes.

I would suggest you do some research before installing the system in your car. what you are considering is called "man-trapping" and in many if not most states is ilegal. there has to be loopholes in the system however. better safe than sorry. "it's for a car show..." always works great as an excuse.

I think the company you refer to is Smoke Defense Jeff...and I have seen it in action, works well...seeing that Beowulf is in Germany, they may allow something like that...you may want to look into the smoke defense system Beowulf and see if you can adapt the tear gas canister into that system somehow...I think that would be the easiest way to attain what you want...

If you want to go to jail then yeah go ahead and jook it up.....
and "demeanor" is correct in the mantrap idea....
Also think of the possibility of an an auto accident where it is set off while you are in the car. Also you should look into the "laws" because you can be seud by the thief in civil court and believe it or not "he will win" and you could be paying for the rest of your life and your wages could get garnished...
Just food for thaught......

There was a unit called DRAGON FIRE. It did exactly what you wanted it to do. Problem: Car alarm goes off. Smoke comes out of car. Person calls fire department. Fire department smashes out your windows and fills up your car with water while you are in the mall. Dragon Fire came with replaceable cans of smoke. My opinion: Don't go there! Use pain sirens and strobes. Works well!

am I the only person who realizes that this guy IS NOT IN THE UNITED STATES OR CANADA?????
he is in Germany, and the laws abroad differ greatly from the Western laws which we all try to abide...
why is everyone so cynical here? I absolutely hate thieves, and have no respect for them or their person...personally if some jackoff wants to break into my car I feel he deserves alot of pain and suffering...and if my alarm happens to deliver it, thats just 100% better...
you guys should all read alot closer to what is being posted here...pay attention before you jump on some guy for something that is probably totally legit in his country...

Many good responses. Germany or not, legal or not, think long and hard before you spew tear gas (cs) into your car to discourage a would be thief. Unless you have experienced tear gas you are probably unaware that it is more than "gas" that disapates. Tear gas is actually a fine powder that is extremely irritating. It not only makes you "cry" but you snot (worse than any head cold you've ever had), it hurts to open your eyes, it hurts to close your eyes, it burns the nostrils and it burns in the crevices in your skin (ie. your neck and anywhere your clothing touches your skin) and when it "disipates" what it has done is settled. Any stirring will re-gas you. You'd have a major cleaning to do if the system were triggered before you could drive your vehicle. I'd strongly suggest getting gassed or do some research on your own before you gas your own car intentionally. One final tip, if you do get gassed yourself, don't shower in hot water, do a cold one. Hot just reactivates the cs.

I don't care in if your in Germany or anywhere in the world! It still doesn't make a differece "BIG Purds"...Noe one in the world "likes thiefs"
Not only would he have to clean his car >all masked up like he's going into space but if he is going to go to that extreme, why not rig it so that a shotgun blows the would be thief away?!!!! why go just tear gas, hell go all the way.... Just think of the possibilities that a family member or a friend borrows the car or just takes it without permission and that person gets hurt....Is that a chance he willing to take..... Personally I don't think any car is worth a persons life.... And if he is that terrified, just get an alarm with the pager feature then you can get paged when the alarm is set off.......
Just think of it this way,,,, Do really expensive cars like testorosas, lambors, mercedes, bentlys, ferraris, all those cars that are worth more than 100g's have tear gas in them..... NO>>>>>>>>>>>
