clifford advantguard5

I'm having a problem with a clifford advantguard5. I uninstalled this alarm from a 2004 expedition and it was working fine because I made sure everything worked before i took it out. I installed this same alarm in an 2007 grand marquis and there is no power going through the ignition circuit of the alarm. I double and triple checked my connections and everything is fine. I opened up the module and didnt see any obvious burns or things of that nature. I'm thinking it's the relay for the ignition circuit that's causing this. I installed an intelliguard 750 in this same vehicle and the alarm and remote start works fine. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be with the advantguard5?cedric

Did you test with a DMM at the harness where it plugs into the CPU for switched ignition ? Just curious if there's loose pin connection somewhere.Jeff

Have you got ign key side and ign ign side the right way round? Very important.

Yes I used my dmm to test for the switched ignition wire, I used the same ignition wire when I installed the 750 and it worked fine and yes I do have the ign key side and ign side the right way. There is no problem with the vehicles wires, it's the alarm module that's the problem. Also, how often do those internal relays in alarm modules go bad, if ever?cedric

Do your immob. wires go from alarm CPU to a black junction box? If so open this up and join plugs together with cable ties. If not, open CPU and check for dry joints or  broken tracks to relays. Have never had a failed G4 or 5 immob circuit in what 6+ years  since G4 came out?
