I am planning to install a Valet 561t (remote start)and DEI 1100x (immobilizer bypass)in my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. I was wondering if someone can help with the wiring diagram for the DEI 1100x.
1) I wanted to confirm that the orange wire gets connected to a 12v source with the key on and not while cranking.
2) Does anyone know why it is necessary to connect the security light?
If anyone has a better recommendation for a keyless bypass, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!

According to the manual the Tacoma is wired in mode 2 so the orange wire goes to ignition which is hot through crank. If you do not hook the security light wire up your secutity light will stay on after you remote start it won't hurt anything just kind of annoying.

or you can just run the 2nd status wire to the keysense wire which will shut off the OEM security.....

Thanks for the advice. It seems that the more research I do, the less incline I am to use this configuration. I read that with my current plans, my keyless entry will not work once the remote start has activated. To me it seems senseless to either start the car and use a key to unlock the doors or to leave the car started with the doors unlocked. I guess I'll do some more research and see if I can get the keyless entry to work with the car started.

sure... just add keyless entry.... the factory keyless doesnt work with the ignition powered, but you can have the remote starter keyless work fine... i do it all the time....

worked fine on my 07 Toyota and my 06 Lexus

BTW, i'm not a fan of cutting any OEM wiring... i still prefer to use a Universal and valet key for all the Toyotas and Lexus that we do here....
