Hello ALL!   I'd just like to say that I think this is by far the "Best" automotive electrical web site out there. I have been in the field for twenty years, and am a member of IATN.  I recommend this sight to beginners who ask me a question regarding basic to advanced electrical diagnosis. So Thanks for Sharing Your Time and Knowledge!

OK... The Question

I have installed a new Viper 160xv in a '98 Pontiac Montana, everything works wonderful, and for a cheaper model its rather easy to program. My only complaint is that the range is horrible. I have read your past posts regarding "DEI" antennas, and a few of you have mentioned that they are "Interchangeable". If this is so, can anyone suggest a specific antenna model that I should purchase.

            Thanks!        Jeff  in   Anchorage, Alaska

Hi luvitinak, in this type of car is recomanded to install the antenna on one of the top side of the windshild, outside of the radio antenna. The interferance of the radio antenna, witch is all around the windshild, can affect the range.
