did you cut the starter wire? or check if u wired it properly heres how i connected mine and it works good, but there are other ways of doing it as well.

1) Cut starter wire in half, leave some wire to work with.

2) Connect  (-) when armed from RS to relay Terminal 85
3) Connect Starter wire (MOTOR SIDE) AND Remote Start WIRE together. Wire to relay Terminal 87a
4) Connect Starter Key Side (ignition cylinder) wire to relay Terminal 30
5) Connect Jumper Cable from relay Terminal 86 to relay Terminal 30
6) Place Diode across relay Terminal 85 and 86 (diode with white Line to Terminal 85)

first off are you referring to a grand cherokke? or a commander? they havent made a cherokee for a couple years now. correct info is a definate help in getting any of us to help you here
2nd of all, all new chrysler products have a mux system which is not the wire to cut for a starter kill, the wire under dash is a low voltage(must use a resistor for remote start mode)dual purpose wire( start and accessory) the wire to cut for starter kill is at the bcm(or pcm under the hood (different makes call it different things) im not sure as to the wire as i dont have a large market for alrms here(mainly starters and accessories, high lease penetration here) but if you rpost this topic with the correct vehicle info someone here will be able to get you the correct wire to use for starter kill, (most new gms also have to go to pcm under hood for starter kill)

This should be an easy fix.

1) Cut the mux wire (pur/brn) in half

2) Connect the key side to pin 30

3) Connect the car side to pin 87a

4) Connect the mux output from the chdl7 pk2 to the pin 87a (car side)

5) +12 v to pin 85

6) (-) starter kill to pin86

Oops, it might not take over, when you put the key in and hit the brake, but definitely it worths a try.

i personally would avoid cutting the PURPLE / brown MUX wire. its a multiplex wire which does many functions (not just 2nd start and ACC). it could potentially save you some headaches. just make sure you wired up the relay on the 1st starter wire correctly and you should be good. just my opinion...
