I had an interesting start to the day, one were I seriously considered going back home and crawling back under the covers.
First customer comes in, he purchased some crap of Ebay and needed it installed. One woofer was siezed and the other had the lead wires torn out of the cone. When I informed him that this stuff was good for paper wieght, he stood there and looked at me. The woofers weren't his problem, as I am a dealer for the product I should warrenty them because he just got them. I tried to explain that he should tried to get them warrentied by the dealer who sold him the product, also that the product was 3 years old, that he had no bill of sale, and the warrenty would not cover this kind of damage. He flew off the handle, yelling how I was just trying to screw him over, and that I should refund his money. He finally left, saying he'd tell everyone how poor of a dealer I was, and he'd call my suppliers and have them stop dealing with me. I was glad he left. A while later, his mother calls, before I can say anything she starts with how poorly I run my bussiness, and not only does she want his money back, she wants shipping cost covered, interest on his payment and some compensation on top. I politly suggested that she talk the person who sold her son the product. She scream back " it was bought on Ebay, your the nearest dealer, that makes it your reponablity" I suggested that she speak with Ebay as I have no affiliation with them. Her response, she'd be by with the police. I put the phone on hold for a while, then pick it up and gave her the number of the desk sargent and hung up. Still waiting for them to show up and take me away, I could use a hoiday.
The next guy comes in, and explains that his power door lock isn't working and wants it fixed. Tells me we did it a few weeks ago, he and his car don't look familar, but I should have been drunk that day. I go to check the car, he gives me a transmitter for a system we don't use. I ask if he's sure we did it, he's posative. I ask for a receipt, he hums and haas, and shows me a paper from a shop that went out of bussiness over a year ago, but because we're close to the other shop we should honour their warrenty. I said that our policy on warrenty is a minimum $60 bay fee (which he could try to reclaim from the manufacture of the defective part) and a 40 to 50 week wait time for an opening, and asked if he wanted to set up an appointment. He's goin to get back to me.
The third genius for the day comes in, we installed a Canadian Tire alarm remote start combo in his Sunfire. He's pissed because the alarm goes off when he opens his doors or truck. I go out and check, the system arms and disarm fine with the transmitter. I suggest, that if their is a problem, that the unit may be at fault, and may need tobe exchanged. I watch as he goes to his car. He unlocks the door with his key and opens the door. Surprise, the alarm goes off. He slams the door, comes back in screaming that I a moron and don't have a clue. I ask why he didn't use the transmitter to disarm and unlock the doors, his answer "I don't want to wear out the transmiter or the power locks"
Aw, the moon must be full, its never a dull day, and tommorow will bring a whole new crop. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!
