My son and I are trying to install a Pioneer DEH-7400MP ( christmas present) into his 1990 S-10 Blazer. The previous owners had a CD player in it, but cut out the harness end and did the twist tie thing. With a tester, etc, we pretty much have the wiring figured out, but there is something else going on.

When the door opens and the dome lights come on, the glove box light and the player quits. The wiring kit we bought had a connector that fit a loose connector in the dash, but it has  the same color wire as the glove box light.  Would we be better off running the power wire to the fuse box or the battery?

Should we run the Accessory wire to the fuse box also.

Thanks
