Hi,

I am currently putting a system together for my son's 00 GMC 1500 x-cab.

I am installing 2 pairs of 6.5 's in the front. I cant seem to find Q-Form kick panels for 6.5's, so I was wondering if anyone has done an install using 2 in each door. How difficult is it? Any tips would be great.

Thanks

Do you believe that the dual 6's are mandatory for sound purposes, or do you just want to see 2 6's when you open the door?

It is definately for sound. Looks really has nothing to do with it. Im looking for very loud and extreme good sound qulity. I have purchased all new equipment for the system already.

OK gotcha...Man....Sounds like your ready. I ruined 2 sets of door panels on a honda learning how to fiberglass a door. Thanks to Pick&Pull, 3rd time was the charm for perfection. All said and done, I wasted more $$$ in material than it would of cost to have it done. Probably by double...HAH. Not to mention countless hours of time. I fabricated a 6.5 at the bottom front corner of the door panel, a 5.25 above that and 2 tweets inline above those. Then crossed them over from lowest(bottom)-highest(top).   Each speaker was re-aimed facing drivr/pssngr. Long story short.. It takes alot of bass to match it and timing was off because of the highs were so loud and close.

After a couple days of deliberation, Ive decided to build a small enclosure below center dash on the hump, and angle the second pair of 6 1/2s slightly toward driver and passenger. I am using two sets of punch 162s series speakers driven by a Kicker ZX350.4 amp. These come with 4 tweets per pair, so I will put 1 pair in A pillar and 1 pair in C pillar along with a set of 4X6s in the rear doors running off of deck power for fill. The high end should sound Great
