i am in front of a Jeep Libery trying to do a front 6.5" door speaker swap. when i pulled the speaker out of the door it has a huge infinity amp attached at the bottom with about 8-10 wires estimating. there was no indication anywhere on the vehicle that it has infinity product in there. I am going to install these and post what i find out. the other post on here that is closed says install speakers as normal. wrong! someone is definitly misguiding someone else on here and it sucks the post is closed. I cant comment on it and someone else doing this job may not see this post. For those of you that do just know there may be extra work

it wasnt to bad. take the torx bolts that secure the single amp to the speaker itself out. you will see red and black set of speaker wires going to the speakers male terminals. Cut the red and black wire and extend them. then secure the amp itself to the inside of the door where it pretty much was just sitting (similar to adding a crossover). The windows dont allow for much clearnce so make sure they are down when you are mounting it just to be safe.

Other then the initial shock of seeing an amp on a speaker i wasnt expecting to see, it is very similar to doing a component speaker job. just make sure you let the customer know it will take a lil longer then a coaxial job like i thought it was. I had to do a little extra work and the customer had to wait a lil longer, no big deal. but next time i will know better and now so do you.

You can do that or.... bypass the amp right there and remove it. Connect your input wires to your output wires and you should be good to go. An aftermarket 4 channel/ new CD player is recommended to retain about the same amount of sound quality.
The only way I have been able to tell on these vehicles if they have the infinity system is they have the RDS radio. Even the base models have tweeters on the top of the dash.
