What will an equalizer do for my system?

I am currently running

Clarion head unit

TMA 320-4 and 500-1 amps

TMA 6.5 components

Pioneer 6/9 rear deck

What advantage would adding an EQ have for this system?

An equalizer is a sophisticated tone control.  It will do the same for your system as it does for any system: provide additional control over the tonal balance of the system.

In general I do not recommend an EQ at all unless you need one.  If you have specific sound quality issues you need to deal with, then an EQ can be a great tool for the job.  Just putting one in a system to play with often causes more issues that it solves.  But of course it's up to you.
