i love jl amps/ door speakers and i love kicker subs. but after looking at the size of enclosure i need for a sealed kicker sub vs a sealed jl sub (roughly half the cu/ft for a jl sub of = power handling and size)I'm left thinking maybe I need to switch my brand of sub also.
I've got about 200 solid rms watts to work with, so i'm looking at one of the lower power handling lines. like the kicker comp or the jl 10W0 V2 ( or maybe the 10w3v3)
i can stick a jl in either flavor in half the size of sealed box compared to a kicker. Is there a reason I wouldn't want to do this?

Have you looked at the kicker CVT subwoofers? These shallow mounts need about half the airspace and are comparable to JVw3, its Kickers CompVR line.

i've looked, but havent listened to yet. they also require 400 watts rms to be happy and i have 200 left on my 6 channel amp. i don't really want to get another amp. the subs I named run good with 200 watts rms.

Cool, I will say that the kickers sound great and look good as well, they will still operate good on that power too. Ive installed a lot of these in the 61/2, 8, and 10" subwoofer, just a suggestion, if you can check out a shop with these let me know what you think, thanks.
