I have a used Kenwood KAC-8103D. I had it tested to see if it worked at a local shop and they told me it turned on but something was wrong internally with the sound. The amp did not have a bass knob hooked up to it and I was wondering if this could be the problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

No, that won't cause a problem.  When you say "something was wrong internally" what does that mean?  Is that all the shop told you?

I believe he said there was something wrong with the speaker output part of the amplifier. It's been a while so I'm not too sure.

Then it sounds like it needs repair.  Get a repair quote it might be cheaper than buying a new one.
