2 sub amp suggestions

I am purchasing 2 alpine type r 10" subs and I am confused as to what amplifier to purchase and how to wire it. The subs come in a 2 or 4 ohm dual voice coils. From what i have read 4 ohms whould have a little less bang but be more clear and crisp and that is what i want. So assuming that is correct...What amplifier would best be used to get 4-500 watts rms to each sub at 4 ohms? I've looked up the wiring diagrams on the site and somewhat get it, but not really. If someone could give me some suggestions as to what amp to use and a detailed description of how to wire it to both subs i would appreciate it a lot. Thank you for your help

That's not correct at all.  The impedance of the voice coils has very little to do with how much "bang" or "crispness" a subwoofer system has.  It simply determines how much load is placed on the amp.  I suggest you get DVC 4-ohm models if you are using two woofers.  Use the Subwoofer Wiring Options link on the left to see your wiring options, then purchase a mono amp that is stable at the impedance you decide to wire to.Support the12volt.com

I recommend finding an amp before you decide which voice coil option you go with.

Find a mono (1 channel) amp that does 1000-1500watts RMS. If it puts out max power @ 1ohm, get the D4ohm subs. If it puts out max power @ 2ohms, get the D2ohm versions.

I appreciate the information. I understand how to wire the subs based on the diagrams (i can follow the diagram) so i don't know if i would call that understanding. I guess the part i don't know is from the amp. If it is a mono amp there should only be one set of terminals out correct? So...if it is a 1000 watt amp with the 2 speakers split the power evenly in half? And is the wire going from the first speaker to the second coming from the terminal on the first or from the amp...meaning there are 2 wires coming out of the negative and positive terminals on the amp? Thanks again for your help. By the way, i would save you guys this hassle of ridiculous questions and just go to an audio store and look but i'm deployed right now and just kinda want to buy the system now so it's there when i get home and i can start hooking it up instead of trying to learn everything then!

Most mono amps have 2 sets of speaker output terminals simply for the ease of wiring 2 subs up. They are ran in parallel inside the amp, so you can either wire 1 sub to each terminal, or just wire both to the same terminal -it doesnt matter.2013 Kia Rio -90a alternator
