like some opinions on setup ideas

Would appreciate input on systems I have in mind.  I have a 07 dodge ram 1500 quad cab and wanting to upgrade system. I have a few ideas in mind.  Just not sure if I need speakers in the back if I go with components in front and woofers in back. Im really looking for sq but like alittle boom now and then.  Any feedback or thoughts will help.  Especially concerning the back speakers wondering if its too much or will the front components be sufficient.

The front speakers are what you will be listening to assuming you don't have the fade control set incorrectly. The rear speakers are for fill and for the rear seat passengers. Spend you money on the front set and on proper positioning for them and just put a decent coax int he back. System 1 or 2 would sound better than 3 IMO, and if it was me I'd choose Helix comps over Focal. But go shopping, test them and trust your ears.Support the12volt.com

those sound like nice systems either way you go. definitely leave room in your budget for some type of sound dampening for your doors, it will make a difference in how the speakers sound as well as seal up the door and usually results in a little better bass response from your mids. if i recall your ram has 6x9's in the front doors so you will need some sort of adapter to seal the 6x9 hole and convert it to a 6.5. its usually better to make the adapters yourself out of 1/4" wood because the plastic adapters arent very good and they only let you place the mid in a certain spot, which doesnt always work depending on the size of your mids. making them yourself will let you center the mid in the 6x9 hole or offset the mid to avoid hitting anything in the door. something like what you see in the picture of my door. those are 7" mids so i had no choice but to make my own adapters. i would also run new speaker wire into your doors from the amp so you dont have to worry about using the factory speaker wires of bypassing the factory amp if you have the premium system.
