I am putting an 02 radio into an o1 neon. The connectors were different so I put the new one on. The radio comes on and plays, but the speedo says no bus and the transmission and airbag lights come on. Am I missing something?

Short answer is yes.  The 01 radio probably interfaced with the cars bcm, 02 maybe different.  But just in case check all your fuses, under dash and under hood.  Check any harness that you may have touched, maybe came loose.  Make sure that you didn't disconnect any ground wires.
