Hey everybody. I was at Tweeter yesterday, just looking around, and I saw they had alpine Type X's. They had 2 12" in a sealed box mated to a JL audio 1000/1 amp. I turned them on, and I didnt even know they were on. I switch over to 2 L7's in a ported box and g****** those were on. Switch back to the type X's, they barely moved. Almost no bass response. It's possible that they were wired wrong inside the box, but I dunno. It was a little scary. anyone hear these things in action?

Yeah, i thew at type-x and a type-r in my truck for a week, and i can tell you for shure the type-x is soo dam quiet in every frequencie except 20-35 hz, ,  between 20 -35hz the sub rocks like no tomorrow, shakes the hell outa everything.   But when you put it up to a spectrum you can seriously tell the volume drop at 40 hz, , , 60 hz is almost impossible to hear.   Its a very very very smooth role , but a little drastic.

My vote is still on the type-r's, unless you drive around playing super low bass tests that shake your vehicle.

The type-x bottoms out pretty easily with the reccomended power.   That sub in my opinion was a failure, and im not afraid to admit it.
