lol 97 maxima power antenna prob -- posted image.....just wait till I catch my breath....... ( JK ) What you need to do is find the short on the antenna wire. Normally there are three wires for the OEM antenna.

  • 1. One for the GROUND
  • 2. One for constant power
  • 3. One for the wire coming from the radio

If you replaced a radio recently you may not have hooked up the power antenna lead. Use a DMM or light tester to check the three wires above and connect to the approprite wires according to the wirng diagram ofor the power antenna that you purchased.

Yes, you can run a new constant wire from the back of the radio to the antenna. You will need three connection in the back ( GROUND, CONSTANT and REMOTE ). Are you still using the OEM deck ?
