How bad is this?

Hello there:

How bad it is to lose "part" of the output from the Head Unit?  What I mean is: I got an OEM radio that with a harness it will give me 2(LR front), and 2(LR rear), but I was told that I will only be able to use 2 (either front OR rear) to connect it to an input of a pre-amp.  Which "means" that my head unit will no longer provide me with the Fader option, but that the pre-amp will.

I just wonder if it will be as good as it was before (without the pre-amp).  The purpuse of the pre-amp is for an auxiliary input...

well when you use a high low converter on a factory radio thats what happens but dont worry its fine your'll be fine there is nothing bad about this but a little warning the sound quality will not be as good as you want it running it this way your better off investing in a aftermarket radio.  the connection is not it , it is how the high low converts power and hay you want to keep headunit so you have no choice,

Some preamps come with a high 4 channel input, which means you won't have to use the hi-lo converter and you can get all the options you need.

You can also check the pre amp  if it has has a four channel input for the RCA jacks.

But you don't have to worry about the fader but you may not be happy with the performance of the factory radio to the preamp. Everyone have their own likes

Ohmz:  Could you let me know where can I find a preamp with 4 channel inputs?  I've been looking but no luck so far, and I also asked all the installation places that I've gone and all of them has said that they don't come like that!!!?  Tha kind that am looking for is an in-dash if possible...
