if i let my car sit for like 4-7 days it don't start... i have a red top battery... how do you test amps being drawn while car is off, and when car is on... whats a good technique to figure out where my problem is....i have 4 amps, cd changer, xm brain, cda9815, cva1003, and padvd. any help would be great thanx alot...

I usually disconnect the negative batt. terminal in put a dmm in line to see how much voltage is being used. so long as nothing is being used it should only read mili-volts, nothing big though.

Ok, with the car off, doors closed, absolutely no lights on, absolutely everything off( or you will blow the fuse in your meter). Set your DMM to DC amp (probably mA), disconnect the ground on the battery, place your meter between the ground cable and the battery ground, let it sit for 30 minutes and that is the reading. With the car on, if you have to ask this then you probably shouldn't be doing it, plus your meter couldn't handle this.
