Not being familiar with the GS300 wiring, try checking the factory wiring harness at the unit with a standard test light. Sometimes the power antenna trigger uses a negative (ground), but I have been out of the installation bay for a couple of years now, so I'm not up to date a much as I would like to be. I am designing websites these days...........

Use a DMM, not a test light. Hit the wrong wire on that Lexus with a test light and you'll let the smoke out of the one of the many computers really quick.

Here's what The12volt has for diagrams :

https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1993&make=Lexus&model=GS300&ID=18197&type=Stereo

The antenna is marked as left rear, I think you shoudl check the tap into the wire coming from the antenna motor and make sure it is getting power when the HU is on radio, and that the HU is putting power out when the radio is on.

I'm not really sure. I havn't personally worked on this car, so I'm not sure of the details I would test to see if the wire uses a standard positive trigger from the amp, or if it's something else - ground, ground through resistor...something like that. If it is the standard 12v + signal, it may be being interupted by the amp if the amp isn't being used and is off. Or perhpas try ground pulses with resistors? I'm really not sure what kind of systems are used in that car.
