Alright, about a week ago I bought a new amp to hook up to my Subs. I took the old amp and hooked it up to some new speakers I bought for for all four doors. Now I ran 12 ga. wire to all of my speakers from the amp. But ever since I can hear alternator whining on the driver door (left channel) but not on my passenger door (right channel). So I thought it was because the wire and the power cable were too close together, this morning I separated those wires and ran the power cable down the middle. It still makes the noise. So then I checked the ground and it was at 1 ohm. I still couldnt figure it out so I hooked up the passenger speaker to left channel and the whining was on that side now. So Im wondering if im missing something or is the amp going out since it is a pretty old amp. Here is the equipment: Pioneer DEH-3500 HU, Performance Teknique speakers, Pioneer GM-X314 4-cahnnel,2 Infinity 10 inch Subs, and a Kenwood KAC-7202 2 channel amp if that helps any.If anybody can help I would appreciate it. You changed the wiring at the amp and the sound moved to the other speaker? That indicates you most likely have a bad amp, or a bad RCA input to the amp (in your case the right channel.) Try swapping the RCA inputs left and right, and if the noise moves it's your cables or head unit, and if it stays in the same speaker, it's the amp.

Alright ill try that but if it is the amp that makes the noise is there anything that i can do to stop the noise? Thanks
