I am going to buy either one of these units, I just can't seem to figure what justify's the $100 price tag difference, all I can see different in the brochure is that the 8455 has a 10 band eq with the pro mode on.   What other diffrences are there other than that? Im not going to use the navigation, mp3, wma or what ever else it has, I just want it for the quality sound it produces with purchased cd's.

My local shops sell Alpine, Pioneer, and Eclipse, nothing touches the Eclipse units from the demos I did in store, but the owner/salesman was so very busy he wasn't able to look into the diffrences between the 2 Eclipse units.

The CD8455 also includes the necessary microphone used to calibrate the cd players with the built in pink noise generator. Buy the CD8455.
