okay im about to install my new alternator(130 amps: 70 amps idle) and i want to know which power wire im i suppose to change to a higher gauge power wire? and they told me i should change it to a 4 gauge power wire. sounds right?

Check the Power and Ground link to the right.  You should be fine though.

There'll be a stud on the back of the alternator (which may have a protective rubber piece over it) which will have a wire going to it which comes from the battery.  That's the wire you want to upgrade.

I would read DYohn's sticky on upgrading the big three at the top of this forum; upgrading the power wire from alternator to battery doesn't do you much good unless you also upgrade the ground wires.
Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.
