Heh guys:
After much judicious use of the 'search' function, I can't seem to find a thread where .. I believe it was our stalwart admin, DYohn .. discussed the PG TI-Elite componet set in some detail.. somewhere I got it in my head these were relabled Morels .. is this correct or am I up a creek somewhere?
Can anyone tell me more about these speakers?

Morel made the drivers for PG.  it is not a "relabeled" Morel set per se, it is a set made by Morel for Phoenix Gold.  I think they are outstanding.

Here's the original thread.

The greatest attribute of the Ti Elite set is mounting depth! 2.5" for the 6". I bought this set to replace a pair of Quart QM-218.02. A big improvement in the mid/bass and the high end. The Ti Elite 6" did bottom out from time to time. More frequent in warmer weather.
The Ti midrange was pushed back, mello where the Quarts were forward but light below 250hz. The Tweeters are very smooth, never harsh like the Quarts.
The x-over is a 24db/oct around 3K and rather large. Two different schools of thought here. The Morel Ovation sets use a 6db/oct while the PG are using a 24db/oct. I haven't listened side by side to know which is smoother. More level adjustment on the Tweeters would have been nice. Build quality is excellent.
I replaced the PG with Seas Lotus Ref. Set. To me, the difference was night and day. The Lotus is smooth across the board. Biamped with a Zapco C2K-6.0 and a C2k-3.0 the set takes power with no problems. No more bottoming out even with a 50Hz xover vs the 80Hz on the Ti's. Highs are smooth and blend perfectly with the mids. The image is more bold and present.
PG has an ebay store that is selling the Ti Elite 6" + the X-over (no Tweeters) for $225. They might be reconditioned units, you will need to ask.
I did like the PG Ti Set, however I love the Lotus Reference!
