hey, my friend just got an 04 ford focus SVT, and it sounds great for a stock audio system.
It is the "290 watt audiophile system"
Its got a 6 disc in dash, good sounding speakers, and a sub in the back. I am assuming this is amped somewhere, but we looked quickly, and it was raining, so we didnt tear it apart. Does anyone know where the amp is (if there is one). It sounds like the crossovers need to be tweaked a little, like there is ALOT of high, a good amount of bass, but the mids are a bit lacking. I am just wondering if anyone has experience with these cars or systems let me know about them.

The only tweaking you'll be able to do is at the radio itself.  There are no adjustments on the factory amp.

is it low level to the amp? I could always put in a new 5 channel amp, should he feel the need for an upgrade. and are the speakers at a wierd impedance like some other factory amplified cars?   thanks, again.. any information is helpful

I'll have to check my big book of stuff on monday when I go back to work, but if I remember correctly the speakers are standard 4 ohm speakers.  The sub though I don't think was.
