hello, i am trying to look for some suggestions for a stereo im going to put into a 20 foot motorhome. the cab in question is an old toyota, circa 1983.
what i am looking for is maximum output and frequency reproduction capability, while maintaining the best possible stage, within a reasonable price range(cheap but not crappy), without using a subwoofer behind me. (of course its got to be easy to listen to, im going to be spending alot of time in there!)
i am also looking to locate -the best for the price- processor for the vehicle, as i plan on using a dedicated laptop to store all my music on(straight to the amps, no head unit, im imagining). the features i am looking for in this processor are at least a 30 band eq, time alignment, variable crossover capability, and perhaps a line driver built in... oh, and, its gotta be cheap as possible! i dont have much of a budget.
as for the doors,
the doors have a large area where i can probably just about squeeze a 9 or 10 in each door, but, im only going to be able make boxes in there which are about .35 cubic feet, at best, it seems. the kicks would be perfect to set in up to a 5.25 and a tweeter.
i have here a set of Morel wr8s, which are 3 inch voice coil,8.75 in, 200 watt, designed for car audio. i am trying to figure if those pushed by a powerful amp will be able to make music loud enough for me(to listen to with windows down on the highway). i am also wondering if these speakers would be better just mounted in the doors all braced and stiffened, or, if i should put them into their own dedicated sealed boxes?(a little low end roll off is more acceptable to me than lower power handling).
..... or should i try to sqeeze a 10 in each door, with components in the kicks(which would require way way more money and time than just running the wr8s)...(and which 10s...Image Dynamic IDQ??) i mean, would it be worth it, really? or do you think the wr8s will be able to put out enough?(oh yeah, my other vehicle, my van, has 2 idq15s in it and CDT 6.5s in sealed boxes in the kicks, so im kind of used to having it pretty LOUD)
i am also trying to figure if the car would image better with speakers in the doors, or, in the kicks?(both locations are nice and out to the sides and in front of you, not too far down).
if i can simply run these speakers i have already(Morel wr8), and a tweeter, it would be nice and easy... but, if its just not going to be enough,no way, then it would be alot of work wasted.
i hope you can see where im coming from... i want something nice and easy to listen to on super-long trips, i know its not going to be something super loud,id like to have a good image, i kinda want to keep it simple and cheap, i have some speakers already... and i like to listen to some decently bass heavy music, like rock and hip hop.
thanks for the comments, all are appreciated... sorry i have so many questions sqeezed in here!

when i say cheap i just mean i dont want to spend a fortune on things i dont need... im looking for value, i suppose.
when i say i am picturing running straight from the laptop, i could go from the headphone out, or, use an outboard d/a converter and then run into the processor, i suppose... i dont really know, not really that up on new technologies for the car. um, thats why i asked.
thanks for the reply...
