Hey, i've got 2 dual 4ohm Type R's, i've got them wired to 8ohms each to give my amp (kenwood Kac-X812D) a 4ohm load because anytime i wired them to give the amp a 1ohm load it would blow both fuses in the amp, i took the amp in and they said there  were a few transistors that were blown? or didn't check out so they were replaced.

But they would still blow fuses. so i've decided to upgrade, i haven't decided what i wanna do first though, new Subs or an Amp...

Should i upgrade the amp first because its what im having problems with? the subs are capable of handling 1500 watts...

I was thinking of getting one of these amps Orion 2500D, Digital Designs Z1, SPL Dynamics EXT-3000D, powerbass 3000 if i were to get the amp first. i'l be running a 1ohm load.

I would look into sundown audio. Yea, the Z1's are amazing amps, but they will break, and it will take quite a bit of time to get it back. the 2500D is a nice amp. I would look into the Sundown SAZ-1500D.

The owner is a stand-up guy and they are underrated as well.

My vote goes to the DD Z1 if it is really that big that you plan on going.

i have one of the orion hcca-d2400 amps and it's pretty damn good.
300 into 4
600 into 2
1200 into 1
That should power your subs quite nicely.
