04 f 250 diesel crew cab

Hello all, I have looked for information regarding this truck. Im not really sure if this truck needs a bypass for remote start. Also, I was reading that some people have had trouble getting a reliable tach source. Would you guys recommend getting a tach simulator for this truck. Thanks for your help.

What system are you installing? I have done a few of that series Ford trucks and have not come across one with a transponder. If the key looks like this then it does not have a chip in it:    As far as the tach reference is concerned here is what Audiovox lists: "ON DIESEL TYPE TRUCKS TACH WIRE COLOR IS LT.GREEN / WHITE LOCATED BEHIND FUSE BOX UNDERDASH. THIS WIRE IS TAPED TO THE SIDE OF THE MAIN HARNESS NEXT TO THE AUX. TRAILER HARNESS. WIRE HAS HEAT SHRINK ON THE TIP." I would try that before using any type of tach generator.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
