Hey all you DEI guys.

I'm taking on the task of installing a Viper 5701 into my g/f's 2001 ford escape. All the installs I've done have been on 1999-2006 Chevys (I'm a chevy guy) so this install is rather new to me.

I've seen the wiring diagrams, but I'm looking for people that have done a similar install on the 01' escape to shed some light on tips and tricks. I'm a bit confused on the door locks, so any help there is much appreciated. Also this will be my first manual transmission install (the 1968 camaro doesn't really count) Does anyone know what PATS bypass module will be the best.

Really, any info you guys can throw at me would help big time. Thanks a lot

IF the 5701 came with a 451m you can use it for the door locks.  Purple will go to ground.  blue/black and GREEN/ black will go to your 1 wire with the resistor inline and the brown and white wires insulate and tape up.  Plug 3 pin harness into brain box.  Not sure about the 01 but I did an 03 recently and just about everything can be found in the driver kick panel.  There is a heavy gauge yellow for consant power down there.  Even the brake wire can be found there, real low.  I think the only hard part was demummifying all of the wires from the factory tape to get what I needed.  good luck
