I installed a 570t in a 2008 F-450 diesel. The problem is the tach programs fine but the remote start won't crank with the wire connected. It starts fine in tachless mode but is unreliable as is (in my experience) always the case so I need to use tach. When the ignition is turned on the tach wire registers a low voltage which confuses the remote start so it doesn't crank. It switches to voltage sense after three tries. I was able to get it to work by connecting the tach wire after the remote start cranks and the engine starts. Is there a way to isolate the wire until it cranks then connect it to monitor the tach signal? I can't believe I'm the first to have this problem although I never installed a low level unit like the Hornet. Thanks for any advice!

Get a tach generator. 454t i believe is what it's called. Made by directed.

Where are you going for a tach wire?

Never had any problems with a 454t, I always use it on diesels, in fact I have running problems with Golfs and Euro Gm (Opel/Vauxhall) when connected to an injector wire so I prefer it.
By the way, have you programmed the diesel wait to start?

I am not familiar with the differences with the F450 and F350, gas and diesel trucks....however I can say that the V10 F350 in 2008 has factory under-crank and over-crank protection built in. This means you just tap the key to the start position and let go, the truck will continue to crank until it starts. This also means that doing voltage sensing on this truck is a feasible option as the truck itself controls the cranking time.
Do you know if the diesel version does the same thing?
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
