06 civic, viper 5301

This is my first time posting on here but I have found this site very useful and was hopping I might be able to find a solution to my problems. I have an 06 Honda Civic Coupe LX with a Viper 5301 remote start /wo security. It was installed 2 months ago and I have two things that have been bothering me.

1. When the installer connected the parking lights he did so on the output side of the relay built into the cars fuse box. The parking lights work fine but the whole center console goes vary dim (below what you can set it at).When the vehicle is remote started the center console will flash with the parking lights from vary dim to bright and back. While the speedo and tach gauges are unaffected by the parking lights as I would expect. I haven’t been able to go out and check what wire exactly he used yet but I have the tech sheet and service manual. My only guess as to how it’s happening is somehow the MICU is doing it. Does anybody know how the center console is detecting that the parking lights are coming on and is there a way to fix it.

2. When the cars factory alarm is set off for whatever reason you cannot disable the alarm with the viper remote. You either need the OEM transmitter or put the key in the ignition. Is this normal? 

The factory alarm arms and disarms with lock and unlock.

If i do that will that cause the gauges to dim like the do when i turn the parking lights on with the switch? I would like to avoid having the dimmer kick in every time the parking lights flash.
