ford escort mk6 eudm keyless entry

First of all congratulations for the great work you do here. Just few days ago I discovered your page. Also I apologize for my bad english. The victim: Ford Escort Mk6 (europe spec - looks like this). What I did so far. Opened the drivers door cover. There is an actuator present there. All the doors lock/unlock whether you use the key in driver side or passenger side door. There is also a terminal ( that's it) which goes to the driver side door. The terminal consists of 4 wires. Brown White RED / yellow Yellow Using the multimeter I found out that RED / yellow has always 12v, Brown has always continuity to ground, Yellow has @rest 12v with doors locked and continuity to ground when doors are unlocked, White has @rest 12v with doors unlocked and continuity to ground when doors are locked To sum it up: Locked doors RED / yellow 12v Brown ground White ground Yellow 12v Unlocked doors RED / yellow 12v Brown ground White 12v Yellow ground When i press the door switch to either lock or unlock the doors the multimeter instantly gets to zero and then reads again (depending where the multimeter probes are. eg when red probe is in RED / yellow cable and black to ground if I press the door switch the meter goes from 12v to 0v and instantly to 12v again, if I do the same thing with yellow or white cables it goes from 12v to 0v or from 0v to 12v) I was given these and these instructions. What I already tried is to connect the yellow and yellow/black cables to ground, left the orange and ORANGE / black not connected and tried every combination of the white and WHITE/ black cables (I refer to keyless box wires)in the door terminal. Nothing happened (except a blown fuse when I connected the WHITE/ black (from the keyless box) in RED / yellow and white (from keyless box) to brown) Questions The keyless entry box where is supposed to be installed. In the drivers door, in the kick panel or somewhere else. I watched some videos on youtube but everyone makes the connection in different way and place. What I am doing wrong? Hasn't my car a negative triggered system? What should I do next?

I've spent about an hour researching this so far for you. You're the third European to ask about this "Central Locking System" install in 3 weeks. I think I can help you. Answer these questions, please:

What year is your Escort?
If you lock/unlock the PASSENGER door, does the Driver door lock/unlock also?
Is there a switch on the door panel, or do you use the mechanical pull-up (unlock) or push-down (lock) button? (Not a "switch").
Can you find the actual lock/unlock MOTOR in the door, and tell me the wire colors on the CAR side of the connector at the actuator?

The handle that opens the door from inside locks the doors when pushed inside and unlocks when pulled out. When you pull it out and you pull it again it opens the door and returns to the pulled out point. Behind this handle come out the 4 wires I mentioned in my first post. Can you find the actual lock/unlock MOTOR in the door, and tell me the wire colors on the CAR side of the connector at the actuator? Motor and actuator are the same thing? The wires I see are the above mentioned and are the same colour in both sides of the connector.

OK.I'm frustrated. I can't find a wiring diagram for any year Escort that has the same wire colors that your Escort does. The diagrams I have found do not show an actuator for the Driver door, only a switch. On these Escorts, you unlock the drivers door, the other doors unlock. Lock the driver's door, the other doors lock. The other doors do not have any control over the locks. So I'm stumped because your colors are different, and you system works differently, than any Escort diagrams I can find. I have one more idea. I see all over this forum in signatures the word "test". So let's run a test.

Remove a REAR door panel.
Find the actuator for the lock mechanism. It should have ONLY 2 wires.
If I'm on the right track, the 2 wires should be the same colors as two of the wires in the driver's door.
Put your VOM on these two wires.
What is the reading between the wires? (Not to chassis earth)
If it is 0volt, try locking and unlocking the doors with the drivers door control.
Does the voltage go +12, -12, +12, -12, etc as you actuate the locks?
If yes, report back, and we can continue.

I am writing from my cell phone so I will be short. Finished the installation yesterday. The car has positive triggered door locks. Connected using the provided by the seller instruction. I will come back with detailed info. Thank you again for your help.
