1994 Pontiac Sunbird

Hey guy's! I am just wondering if anyone can tell me if I can disable the dome light timming, what I mean is when I exit my car the dome light stays on for like what seems like an eternity...lol I hate waiting for the light to go out before arming the alarm. any help would be apprecieated.

there is a way to do this....It may take a bit of wiring though. Find the wires that feed up to the dome light. They are usually located in the windsheild pillar and are 2 wires, white and orange.

in the drivers door harness, you need to find the GREEN/ black wire. In the pass door harness, look for the light blue wire.

Basically, cut the white dome light wire and connect these two door wires to the cut white wire that feeds up to the dome light. (tape off the other half of the white wire that is left over) This will turn on and off  the domelight with no delay. (make sure you diode isolate the two door wires apart)

granted this is a very basic description. I hope this helps.

the underdash light also has the delay.

Diode isolating means, in this aplication, using two of them so the two door trigger wires (the ones in each door) dont "see" each other. Its very simple. Install a diode inline on each wire with the silver stripe of the diode on the "door side" of the wire, then wire the other sides of the diodes together that then go to the white dome light wire.
