I just installed this alarm on a 2004 grand am. Everything works BUT the remote start feature. I think I hooked up the wires to the right ignition wires at the switch, but when i goto remote start it does notta and the parking lights flash 3 times. I took the meter and checked out the wires, everything is working. I even programmed for tach signal like the installation manual states to do, so that works. So now i'm lost on what it could be. Normally i work on DEI alarms, so that's why this one has me cornfused.

flashing 3 times is a diagnostic protection....either your pinswitch is open (or screwed), or its in valet mode.  is the led on solid?  if so, take it out of valet mode (if its a new model, key on/off 5 times).  Otherwise, try swapping another unit in....

3 flashes is either:

3 fast flashes: tach watch lock out. - the module has gone through a start cycle and not seen a tach signal, this could be due to a bad tach, or  an anti theft problem ( the anti theft is not allowing the starter motor to spin).

1 flash then 2 quick:  the voltage to the module is dropping below the threshold of the chip, the module turns off, when the voltage recovers, then module powers back up ( the first flash confirms the start comand, and the 2 flashes are when the module powers back up)

have seen the three fast flash thing on a unit where the pin wire was shorted to ground.  also on units when you try to start with hood open (again, pin grounded).

too many variations!!!!!  I also HATE that "fast" tach programming on the new units....
