Is it possible to install a remote starter using with a factory installed alarm, or even the ones that came with keyless entry but no alarm? I'm asking this, 'cos I'm planning to buy one for my dad this Christmas. I'm going with this option first before having to spend more on a whole new aftermarket alarm with remote starter. He drives a 1999 GMC Jimmy, so is there any relays or bypass plugs that I need to buy or know more about? This starter will be install by me after Christmas is over.
I also have another question about remote start. This is for me and the question is may I install the remote starter to my aftermarket alarm in my car without using any auxillary outputs? I mean my alarm does have aux outputs, but they are already being use for something else. My alarm is an old Gargoyle alarm installed into my 95 Infiniti G20. Any link to websites that have these remote start for sale would be great too please.

You just need to buy an "add-on remote starter". Do a search on Google.
Remember, the range will stink thoug. Only about 50 ft.
Test your dads factory remotes just locking and unlocking the dorrs and see if the range is good enough for his purposes. Otherwise, a complete starter unit is not really that much more expensive, especially considering the range.
You will need a passlock II bypass for the 99 Jimmy.
Add-on starters have a trigger that requires 3 pulses (typically from the lock wire in you car so you can press lock three time to activate it).
