The original keyless entry remotes were lost and the dealer has an replacement, but it must be programmed. I was wondering if anyone knew how to program these remotes? I notice the car did have an after market autostart 715 alarm that works with the factory keyless entry remote. Let me know and thanks.

A lot of times the owners manual for the car will tell you. Try checking there.
I have a book at my shop that tells me how to program remotes and transponder keys for just about every car. I could check it tomorrow if nobody else gets back to you first.

Nothing has to be programmed to the alarm. The 415 works from lock pulses on the car and not from the remote.

Not sure if you still need it.
To program a new remote on a 2001 Camry.
- open drivers door only
- insert key into ignition and then remove it
- press lock and unlock on the vehicle door lock control switch at 1 seconds intervals 5 times
- close and reopen drivers door
- press lock and unlock on the vehicle door lock control switch at 1 seconds intervals 5 times
- insert key into ignition switch
- switch ignition on and off twice to program a remote transmitter while erasing the original codes or three times to check how many remote transmitters are currently registered.
- remove key from ignition switch
--- system should now lock and unlock vehicle twice to indicate programming mode OR one to four times to indicate the number of remotes programmed to system
- press and hold lock and unlock buttons on transmitter together for 1 second
- press lock on remote for 1 second
- repeat previous 2 steps if programming additional remotes
- to exit programming close drivers door or insert ignition key

Thanks guys for this info. Been having issues with getting the key reprogrammed with no joy. Used your instructions JWorm with joy until I tried to program the key. Got the auto lock and unlock twice then did the one second presses. Got the red light indication on the Key but no joy when I tried to use it to lock and unlock. At least I know the car part appears to be working. Off to scratch my head and see if I can work this out.
