I am installing a remote starter in 2000 gmc full size pickup and the wire guide calls for using the light green wire to brown plug of  BCM.  The bypass 555L calls for use of  yellow wire from ignition tumbler .  I chose the yellow wire and all worked well.  My question is ; would either wire have worked ?

I dont know how a 555L works (I use astroflex) but there are 2 yellow wires at the ignition bundle....one is "start" and

the other is the passlock R code wire. This is used for the passlock ignition override.

The Lt. Green wire at the BCM disarms the "door security"   They are 2 different things

Kartune man is right on, it would not have worked had you used the light green wire...

On a side note a properly bypassed passlock2 system will automatically disarm the factory security...
